The absolute best way to comprehend any subject and what God says about it, is to take a concept or "key word" that you want to learn about and then study that word within the Bible.
Today, I'd like to share with you about joy!
Ephesians 5:25-27 says this:
"...just as (Jesus) loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy."
Taking a concept such as 'joy' and then studying what God has to say about it, is what it means to sanctify and cleanse her (the church) with the washing of water by the word.
There are 211 verses with the word 'joy' in the NASB version of the Bible. However, I've chosen only some of my favorites to share with you. Are you ready for a good cleansing bath? Let's dive in!

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
